I have a deep water well, but it still has too much sediment and other things that cause a slight sulfur smell. I'd never put that stuff through my motor, I use it to water my lawn. I only use house/city water to flush my motor.

My sister has one in Central Fl and I won't even take a shower at her house... stinks and the water feels slick... My well water is fine but I only use it to water the lawns and garden and to flush the outboard... it doesn't have any sediment or any chlorine, flouride or other chemicals that's in the city water.

I think what tomb is saying is the motor flush hose wasn't connected when he was running the engine (not flushing). He had a telltale stream so the impellor was getting H20 so it's OK. No overheat alarm I presume?
I have forgotten to reconnect after flushing and run the engine for awhile before I discovered it. May have been the whole day. Anyway, the engine didn't overheat or blow so I'm guessing it's fine.
