Howdy! Couple of quick questions for folks that have power poles on their SV's:
1) Where did you mount the hpu/hydraulic pump? Battery compartment or bilge? Directly on the inside of the transom? 2) Any issues, problems or hurdles experienced during install? Or pretty straight forward?
Thanks in advance!

Mine was installed when I bought it so I can't say if there were any issues during the installation but I can tell you that the hydraulics are in the battery compartment and mounted on the gunnel and the electronics box is mounted on the inside of the transom.. it's easy to get to both should you need to.

A friend had one mounted about 6 months ago. The only problem he has is that they mounted the pump in front of the batteries. They said that was the easiest and best place to put it. Now it is a Bitch to change the batteries.

Thanks guys! Appreciate the responses.
Juan - you mentioned that the hydraulic pump was mounted on the gunnel. Is it thru bolted all the way to outside of the hull? Or just screwed in?
Runninlate - good call on watching out for the batteries. Do you know if you friend's is mounted to the transom in front of the batteries? Or is it mounted to horizontal shelf that the batteries sit on?
I'm having one installed next week and am trying to think thru where I want the various components situated.
Thanks again!

Thanks guys! Appreciate the responses. Juan - you mentioned that the hydraulic pump was mounted on the gunnel. Is it thru bolted all the way to outside of the hull? Or just screwed in? I should have said: mounted to the ledge that's mounted to the gunnel. Both the hydraulic pump and my Perko switch are bolted to that ledge.. The mounting bolts / screws go down through the ledge and not into the gunnel. And the electronics box is screwed into the inside of the transom... I'll attach a picture... and I know it's dirty

Thanks a ton for the pics the Juan - it's very helpful. I like how the components are off to the side, yet relatively accessible.
Unfortunately for me, I installed a 'power center' I made along the ledge right by the gunnel (where your pump and switch are) that has a 2 bank charger, switch, maxi fuse and fuse block mounted to it (got the idea from this site!). It pretty much takes up the entire length of the ledge there by the gunnel tho, so it effectively eliminates that as a potential mounting location.
Hate to say it, but I might have to place the pump on the bilge side of that same ledge/shelf. It should fit just fine, but it will definitely hinder access to the batteries. I'm thinking this is what runninlate's friend may have done.
Thanks again guys - really appreciate it.

I went with the Minn Kota Talon on my 206CC because it's self contained.
