if your saying I can clamp the tube with some vice-grips and just twist the ASV until it backs out, I'll try again. Sorry it's being a PIA to get out. I'd keep trying to get the screen out of the tank (but carefully) since you don't want to damage the threads in the tank. Using vise grips to clamp the tube might cause the tube to crack or the whole assembly to fall into the tank if the nipple comes off but they might help to pull the screen straight up and out. A section of tubing inside the tank shouldn't cause any problems. As a last resort a new ASV and pick tube might be the way to go since it will have new threads.

I got REAL tired of trying to work thru a 4" hole on my old 170CC and cut a hole in the deck under the console to fit a 8"x11" inspection hatch. Makes access to the top of the tank much easier. I did mine with a saber saw, make sure the blade is short enough so it won't touch the top of the tank.
