Have you tried cleaning the battery terminals, and the connections at the battery?

Update: Battery was defective. Replaced battery, motor fired right up AND the new tach works!!! Now I have to take it on a test ride!

Heck to the yeah! Go get some! My tach buzzer beeps sometimes after I engage trim tilt but I just need to replace motor wiring terminals to stop voltage drop. I think? ?

Well, was a mixture of success. Inbetween 1800 and 2600 RPM's...smooth as silk, but outside of that, it has a miss. Really bad above 2800RPM's. So maybe the coils? Below 1400 RPM's, the hot engine alarm was going off. From what I've searched, seems I should just replace the water pump kit. With the Johnson 90 and ID J90PLSOA, anyone know which kit I should get?

One thing I was thinking was the jets could be clogged from old fuel from before. Anyone deal with the jets on this?
