I recent picked up a 2002 Sea Pro v2100 and she ran great but me being me... I have to tinker with everything and figure out exactly what is what. Well doing so I came across a lot of crazy electrical work and am now on a mission to clean things up a bit. Below is some of what I have come across: This group of wires isnt hooked to anything: Piggy backing and wire twist... 5 negatives into one??

So now that you see what I am working up against... maybe someone can help me with some questions. Question 1 = In the following picture you see all the gauges. Gauges are a weakness for me as I haven't really hooked them up before. Seems like an awful lot of wires though and it looks like some of the negatives are piggy backing off the negative post on the gauges. Is it normal for other items to piggy back off the gauges negatives? Also does the picture look like too many wires on the gauges? I need to find a diagram and see exactly what needs to go where. Question 2 = Does anyone have any clue what this is or what it hooks too? One of the wires I traced from it looks to maybe hook to the safety switch wire? Question 3 - Is this the speaker that sounds the alarms and the starting beep? Question 4 - Anyone have an idea what this blue/black wire went too? The first picture is the wire up by the switch panel. The other end is back by the rear battery. It took me most of the day but I was able to track back a lot of the items:

I'll let one of the sparkles weigh in as wiring is not my strong suit. I can do it I just don't like to. Excellent post by the way. Welcome to the forum and one of the re wiring experts should wake up and get stirring soon.

Good lord man! GUT EVERYTHING AND START OVER, Just kidding, but that is a mess. Mine was almost that bad when I got it. Cleaned up now after a few days of finding out what the previous owner thought was the right way or the quickest way to fix a problem. If this helps, every gauge on the console has a light, negative and positive wire piggy back to light all at the same switch throw. Also the heavy orange wire is a positive from motor via battery to each fuse then to each switch piggy backed to power accessories. Not sure where your alarm horn is as mine is in tachometer but it doesn't look like yours is as you don't have a pin plug to tach. Some wiring and plugs are for gauges that are not installed, like trim guage and volt meter, etc. you gotta go thru all wiring and trace it out to find what's what. A good voltmeter and some patience will get you there. Bennett trim tab pump should be horizontal. Looks like a lot of work but you can do it. Google a wiring diagram for your motor or ask someone here for a link. That will solve some wiring colors for motor systems. The rest is per install .

Anyone know off hand what this wire is? It looks like it's going into the sleeve with other engine wires. Attachments:

The switch/guages panel looks exactly like yours so I am hoping you have some photos or video of your finished project. Based on the current wiring in the CC and in the bilge it will be a mess to just update, so I am thinking to rewire. Did you ever post images on this forum from your rewire? -CF

I ran into the same situation with my '05 SV1900 a few months ago. What saved my bacon was the fact that Sea Pro evidently used the same wiring harness for the whole SV series. The excess was coiled in the starboard transom area and may be what you show in your third photo. The panel doesn't look to bad except for those suitcase connectors which need to get gone. Best way I found was to trace one wire at a time. Good luck.

Same problem here, we gutted her and will do a complete rewire once we're done with cosmetics. Most of the SP wiring was pretty cheap and fortunately the previous owner had already replaced most of it with marine duplex. Hopefully we will be able to piece her back together nicely. Current under console situation. Blank slate!

If it makes you feel any better I just picked up a 2002 sv2100 also. The wiring is nearly as big a mess plus a few zip ties lol. Wires not connected all over the place. Plus 3 batteries in the console. I do aircraft wiring for a living and still don't really think I wanna mess with it. Everything appears to work on my boat with the exception of the horn and the instrument backlighting. I may one day take on this project but for now I gotta make sure the engine and other things are working well. Any information you do come up with especially regarding back lighting would be great If I had it my way the main instrument panel would have a single (or possibly 2) disconnect for all wires with spare pins for future upgrades so the entire console/instrument panel could be removed with one disconnect.

I had everything on a backup hard drive that went bad on me. No1 explained that i should probably back up my backup lol. If I cant find anything then Ill take some more next time I am over by the boat.
