Anyone know the best place to purchase a Bimini top for a 2006 SV1900? Or anyone who is trying to sell a previously used one? Also any information on best kind of fabric, stainless vs aluminum, etc? Have to get one for my new little girl and dont know much about them.

I used to have one on my old boat. It was the sunbrella fabric. I think that's a good fabric. I had an aluminum frame also. However, I think the stainless would be a lot more sturdy. That being said, I didn't have any issues with the aluminum either

Thanks for the reply. Was it aftermarket or factory? And did it attach to the rails? Just looking for a recommended place to get one. Don't want to spend a bunch of money and it be junk or not fit properly

Grassman, Here's a photo of my V1900 Bay Series with the Bimini on. It has a single pivot point mounted on each gunnel and straps fore and aft on both sides. As 'Cross said, it's a PITA to fish with. Sometimes the big guys decide which way they're coming at the boat and it's usually around a strap or pole. My frame is aluminum and it has held up for years. Stainless would be nice, but way more expensive and probably a lot heavier too. The fabric is the original (Sunbrella I think) canvas. It has held up well too except where a rat started chewing on it while it was in my shed. Bad rat. He's dead now. Do you have hardware on your gunnels now? Measure the width you need and the rest falls into place. The frame sizes are pretty standard. I will say that it definitely offers some shade and my wife won't go on the boat without it.

I ended up a buying used aluminum bimini locally thru a TidalFish classified. Added rail hardware and "radar arch" supports. Bought a Sunbrella replacement top on eBay. Not a huge fan but it's way cheaper than a T-Top

I was never a big fan of a Bimini top either in my serious fishing days before kids. However since getting this boat with a big Bimini top I seem to be raising it often in 95 degree sun! They are a pain to fish around but they can be takin off when your headin out for serious business. Mines I guess a six point system and it's nice that I only have to pull it forward with two straps. I was allways aggregated at the ones that lay down in the boat as it was allways in the way. This one stays up and out of the way except when needing a good hook set on a fish. Great for family though!
