Thinking about taking up a collection to buy the guys at NOAA who do the Lake Erie wave forecast a new wind gauge. Think the one they have is broken. The forecast has been horrible. Last week called for 2' or less and ended up fishing in rolling 4' waves. Went out with a buddy with a 30' Proline we left at the dock to take my 206 since it was supposed to be "flat". (We did get our limit of perch but it was not fun.) Forecast has been completely unreliable all summer. Anyone else having the same problem?

Most of the time it's pretty good in the GOM within a day or two. They are almost always off a little, but I don't complain because I can't do as well as they do. I definitely don't look more than a day and a half out.
