Freezer, that would be smooth, but I don't have bow rails. All I have are really short side rails to work with. Those look like pretty fine rod holders for $27. I might have to get a couple of those if I have any rail space left when this project is done.

They might fit on short side rails too.

Crabs, glad my Air Horn mount can serve a better purpose now than just scaring the $H!+ out of people That's why these forums are so great, we can all share our insights, ideas and different ways of doing things. Then others take those concepts and build them into something practical for their specific application! I'm sure you already have exactly what your going to do in your head and while you go you'll think of different/more advanced ways of getting to your solution. Good luck! The rod holders are another great idea. The one and only reason i didn't suggest one of the rod holders is metal on metal. The rod holder might do a little job on the finish of your rails, the nylon ones are a bit more forgiving. Either one works just fine!

I have some of those rod holders and they work great, but as Yolo said they can booger the finish on your rails. As for metal on metal, swim noodles fix that!

Alright, here it is. I think this is going to be awesome. Here we have about $60 worth of PVC, connectors and, most importantly, VHF antenna mounts. The hardest part was deciding in what sequence to glue things. Thank you to all who provided help and support. Crabs

Thanks for the affirmation Juan. I don't think I'm the first to put a Cajun Anchor in a PVC tube. It could be a successful product though, if it had a cool name. Maybe like 'The Pole Vault' or something.

Now that's a good name, people searching for an athletic event will see your product. :-)
