I recently came across this Sea Pro forum yesterday what a great site with tons of knowledge and experience...so here I go. I purchased a '98 210CC in August 2014. I was told by dealer that the hull was all composite. This is a one owner boat that was rarely used and was climate controlled stored otherwise. The boat did not even have electronics installed. Anyhow, I repeatedly read that Sea Pro stopped using wood in 1996, but when I removed the starboard rod holder to run wires for a trolling motor to the bow area I noticed what appeared to be a glassed in wood floor. I also smelled what appeared to be wood when I drilled in the top cap of the bow to install the trolling motor mount. There are no soft spots or anything that is raising concern for me other than the fact that I would like to know for sure. Could what I see in the floor be a manufactured (composite) wood? If it is wood should I not worry as much due to the previous owners storage practices? I as well keep the boat stored in a fully enclosed and concrete floored storage facility (not climate controlled but not stuffy) with the boat always washed, dried and stored with every hatch open. I know there's a lot of random here but dread the thought of ever having a floor rot out. Thank you in advance for any input!!! thwelcome31 As you said and others have said Sea Pro stopped using wood 95-96, Question I have is , is your boat registered in 98 and possibly a "left over" 96 production ??. A HIN search would confirm your boats actual production date. Just a thought.

Odds are, it's composite since Sea Pro claims to have transitioned away from wood construction around 1996 BUT since your's is a 97, it's hard to say for sure. There's at least one forum member who has a later than 96 model who swears his deck is made of wood.

True, of course if they state theirs is a '97 then as mine states '98. could have been constructed the previous year ie '96. That's the year I understand Sea Pro moved to the Newberry plant. I understand all boats constructed there were composite which would make since. Yet there could have possibly been some left over hull constructions brought over in '96 from the previous plant still consisting of wood? I would think they had some molds to finish up. Anyhow I really appreciate the help and I will pray for the best. Like I said, I keep it is dry storage with all hatches open and dry which should definitely help. I will send pic soon of all my modifications. Thanks again.

Even if it is wood if you don't have any soft spots it's good. With the way you say the previous owners and you stored the boat it will last along time.
