Pat,
I love this. I've often thought of doing exactly the same, but I was afraid the fabric would tear or unravel and I would have screwed up a perfectly good $300 cover. The sealant/silicone keeps anything from running?

I like it. Another good option is to make an underframe out of pvc that supports your cover and drains all of the water out.

I'm curious... Have you had any mold or mildew issues since you installed the grommets? I like it but seems like the grommets would allow a lot of water in and wouldn't provide enough ventilation to dry it out.

I'm glad to see someone try this. I thought about doing this once but also worried about tearing. I have one of this telescoping poles in the bow but honestly it is a PITA. My cover isn't really waterproof anymore anyway. I'm gonna do this this week.

I've broken 2 of those "tent pole" things. At $20 a pop, I gave up. I'm definitely going to try this.

I put 2 strategically located grommets in my cover and it long longer holds water. Ya-freakin'-hooo!
Thanks again Pat.
