Anyone have any ideas about the best way to mount a amplifier and battery charger in the console. I currently have my two trolling motor batteries installed in it. I want to mount them on the side wall to keep them off the floor. But it seems like most of the console walls are to thin to hold screws.
I was considering glueing a piece of starboard to one of the walls and mounting it to them. I would also need to have enough room to eventually add fuse box and buss bars for when I rewire the boat this winter.
Thanks.

I ran into the same problem when tidying up my wiring, the console walls are too thin for screwing into. I plan to attach a piece of starboard with some stainless screws and nice counter sink washers on the outside, i think that would look tidy and secure the board nicely on the inside.

I added two aluminum backing plates on the outside of my console. I like the way it looks.

Mine is mounted inside the console to the front wall (just above the height of the live well).. The wall seems to be stronger there probably because of the extra support of the live well. The mounting bolts stick through to the other side but the back rest cushion covers them up and you can't tell that they are there at all.

I've got a tackle box holder there on the SV2400CC so it wasn't an option for me this time.

My charger is mounted to the deck inside the console. Works well for me.

Unfortunately no i don't have any pictures but all i did was cut a square piece of star board and mounted it with four screws that drill through the console. Washer and screw end out the outside...nylon nut and washer on the inside. Then everything can be screwed in and taken out of the starbaord as many times as it can handle.
