Evaluating the possibility of putting a 10" setback on my SV2100 w/t-top and looking for suggestions. Possible alternative to putting on trim tabs. What is your guys experience with one or has anyone tried one on their boat.? Don't think I need the verticle movement but think that I might get some benefits from a set back for planning with heavier loads and full fuel..

From my past experiences, I have to say I don't think there is an alternative to trim tabs. Trim tabs will make more improvement in performance than a jack plate or any other modification in my opinion. That being said, I don't have a jack plate on my 2100 but have been ion the market for a used one for quite some time and still haven't found one for sale at what I consider an affordable price. In the past I have had both manual and hydraulic plates on bass boats and can say that if set up properly a hydraulic jack plate does a lot and a manual does a little. The vertical adjustment is a must for accurate trim and shallow water running. Just me, but I wouldn't hesitate to install a hydraulic 10" set back plate on my Sea Pro but I wouldn't even consider it before trim tabs
