I purchased a 02 180cc this past summer and have been trying to figure out why boat won't trim out without porposing. I think that maybe the motor on the boat is too short. If anyone here has the same setup, could you please tell me if you have a 20 in or 25 in shaft on yours. Thanks in advance

I have a 20 in shaft. I do not have enough adj to set the cavitation plate level or close to bottom of boat.

I put a "delta wing/bat wing" on the lower unit on my 04 for a few years, then upgraded to Trim Tabs boating2 Batwing was $20 at Wally World. Bennet Trim tabs where $475 on amazon, both eliminate the porpoise.
Power is a Yami 90hp 2 smoker. 20" shaft

My V1900 Bay Series used to porpoise really badly. When I'd try to get on plane the bow would point towards Venus. I put a hydrofoil stablizer on it and it's a new boat. On plane quickly and I only have to trim down a little bit to keep it from porpoising. Could be an inexpensive fix for you.

I have an 04 180cc with the 115yami and formerly the same porpoising problem. All I needed was the cheap solution (adding the wing to the motor). At cruise there are no more issues. In fact I actually got a major top end increase at WOT as I am now able to trim up higher than before (getting more of the boat out of the water) without feeling like I'm riding a bull.

I have a 2006 196cc with a 150 merchandise optimax. It has smart craft guages. My fuel Guage always shows 57 gal which is full. I used the gallon used Guage to keep track of Mt fuel usage. Does this sound love a fuel sending unit issue? If so any idea on where the sending unit is ?
Thanks Kacz
