Post up your thoughts and some performance numbers if you can, it's fine reading their test data but you can't beat real world data from an owner.

Congrats on the new 239's. I'm very interested in this boat. Can we get a little more info on how you've enjoyed this boat this summer? Thanks

Yes to Drains not draining. Hatches are not rain tight either. Design and workmanship is very poor on the Next Generation.
I should've bought from the other Hancock brother, the one that knows what he's doing. Sportsman.

Could you be a little more specific, All the hatches? and what issues did you have with workmanship? any pics?. Would be good info for future potential owners. Cheers Phil

Water backs up into center console because it doesn't flow to the drain manifold at the rear. I don't know if line is too small, if it's crimped, or poor design. It just don't function very well. They're no seals on any door/hatch with the exception of the console door but the door is so thin/flimsy it bows when latched leaving a gap at the seal top and bottom. Any kind of rain shower wets everything in any compartment.
Workmanship, Screws thru T-top from VHF mounting. Stainless hardware but carbon steel nuts and/or washers leaves seeping rust stains on gel coat. Port trim tab mounted flush with bottom, Starboard mounted 3/8" to 1/2" higher. List when on plane unless port trim tab is over 60%. Tacky caulking top of rub rail and none put on the bottom of it. Fish box hatch scrubs and is difficult to operate. Table won't stay in holder unless it is absolutely flat seas. ...ect. ...ect.
I purchased new because my health is falling and I wanted something nice and reliable. As it turns out I'll be working on this as much as if I would've bought used. Jimmy Hancock assured me, "I won't let you down". I shipped it back to Whitmire and they worked on somethings, but after getting it back it was obvious they didn't just overlook some things, they just don't know what they are doing. I've addressed a lot so far and I'll get the rest eventually. But I expected better from a NEW boat. My opinion is buy from his brother Tommy. Much better design. Much better quality.

Oh, I had no idea about the Sportsman - Sea Pro connection. So, I went to the Sportsman website to check out their boats. The 2018 bay boats are remarkably similar to the new Sea Pro bay boats. Take a look at the difference between a 2017 and a 2018 Sportsman and then look at the 2018 Sea Pro.

Boat did not drain very well. Water was neutral to maybe stern.....but did not drain well. Craftsmanship was not there either. Loose wires in exposed areas, rust from stainless, magnet that held transom door RUSTED completely off. Flip up bolster seat had the nails pull out and cushions was junk. Hatches were not water tight.....and boat ended up just not being for me. It had a great ride and was great in a rough sea. Just needs more love in the finishing aspect of it. I guess for the price, which is alot less that the "big name" boats, its worth it. BUt as they say, you get what you pay for

You're not the only one with drain issues.

Hello all! I am new to the site and to Sea Pro. I just purchased a new 239 after several months of very critical research and consideration! I visited every center console dealer available to me within 100 mile radius at least once, several more than once. I am sure some of the dealers were getting tired of me coming in, crawling all over there boat & asking so many questions. To me this was a one time decision that I wanted to make sure to get right the first time. It is a retirement gift to myself & one that I have worked hard for and dreamed of for many years now. I am shocked, to say the least, at some of the comments I have read of a few here on the Sea Pro 239. What stood out to me immediately over the other boats, including the Sportsman, the Sea Hunt, the Tide Water was the fit and finish of the boat! There was no comparison. All my hatches are very sturdy, they close and align with precise precision. I can only think of one of the lids that are not sealed with a gasket and it is access to the fresh water shower head on the stern. I have seen no unfinished painted fiberglass anywhere accessible on the boat. I have not left my boat out in the rain for anything more than a day, but I have not seen any evidence of any drainage problem at all! The ride of this boat has been extremely dry and soft. I listened to several of the competitors sales people warn me that "the Sea Pro hull would beat you to death!" I know for a fact that these people were either intentionally telling a lie or have not rode in the new hull so they did not know any better! I have less than 10 hours on my boat at this time & it is currently at the dealer having a Minnkota 72" 36V I Pilot trolling motor installed. I had the Humminbird Helix 12 installed in dash. It will be linked with the Minnkota. I am a very happy camper with my 239. I will be writing a complete review on the boat once I get a few more hours on it. I feel confident I made the right decision going with the Sea Pro 239! No buyer remorse here! I hope this helps some of you who were looking for info on this boat. More to come!
