I have just purchased a 1993 19' Center Console (190CC) and would like to put a bow mount trolling motor on it. I have never installed a bow mount trolling motor before so I have no experience as to how much area is required for mounting and whether this will work on this boat. The boat has an anchor compartment at the bow which may interfere with the trolling motor mount. Has anyone had any experience with this who could offer advise?

anglin45, look on page 2 under trolling motor under this same heading and see how seapro52 did his. A real neat installation. Mine has a bow rail or I would have it on mine. <`)>((((< ED

Thank you for the reply. I looked it over and my bow setup is a bit different on my 190. I'm not certain that I could do the same thing, but will consider.

Hello everyone, I have a 190cc set up with a minn kota riptide bow mount hand control. This in my opinion is the only true way to do it correctly.
1. remove the bow rail, this is the only way to do it trust me! This is done by drilling the heads off the screws. 2. Fill the holes with marine tex, remember to tape off the holes. 3. relocate and replace the nav. light with a small removable post light. 4. I will post some pics in the future to show you this is the way to go! 2.

Thank you for the response. My bow rail does not rap around the front, but is open at the bow. I would think that the open area would be enough for the trolling motor.

anglin - If I can remember how to load pics on this forum I'll show you the mounting for my Riptide 70. I have a 2000 SV1900 and the mount is easy with access thru the anchor locker. You'l need some backing plates for the mount - 1/8"-3/16" alum is sufficient. Do you have a power supply already located on the Bow? troll mtr batts are located in the console. Mike

Thanks Mike. I appreciate your input and would like to see the picture(s) if you can load them. I don't believe that there is power at the bow as yet, but may be wrong. The boat is not at my house right at the moment to check. This boat does not appear to be "too friendly" for snaking wires around the hull anywhere. Anglin

anglin45, I would disconnect the bow light and tie a string to it and snake it back to the console and remember to double it to leave one in there (nylon line ). then pull the wire back in and reconnect it, also put the new wire with it. I had to this in the stern to hook up the depth finder. Tie the string off on something so that it doesn't come out too. You never know when you may need it again. I used a string with a knot in it and put it in a short length of tubing and used compressed air to blow it to the stern. Works every time. <`)>((((< ED

Thanks for the advise, Ed. I will give that a try. At this point I'm still trying to find my best deal on a trolling motor.

Thank you, Mike. Good pics and nice installation. I purchased a RipTide 80 and I'm still looking at the best position. I have an anchor locker on my boat where your motor is installed. I hope to not block the use of the locker. It appears that I can put it to the side but will have to cut a port through the wall inside my anchor locker so that I can access the underside of the mount. I may find that it is full of foam in there which won't be fun. I greatly appreciate your taking the time to send the pics and give your input. They are helpful. Ed
