Hey everyone. I administer this page on Facebook and welcome any ideas from you Facebook experts out there to promote the page/boat brand. One thing I do is try to change out the cover photo with action shots of Sea Pro boats. If you have any photos that you would like to contribute to the cause, please post them here in this thread and I will use them. Thanks.

I had a thought I wanted to get some feedback on in terms of Facebook and social media. While we all live far apart this forum is making us together and searching for pictures on my overhaul the other night got me thinking about something.
While Facebook is amazing and a great way to connect we are a bit restricted in what we can share especially, within a great community like this forum. We have to email pictures then someone has to post them, its a bit time consuming. Another good example would be that most of us are captains and focused on that while we are boating. On the other side, many of our friends, who we take out, are so excited to go on a boat and take a billion pictures that they share on social media outlets like Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and other places.
Most of you probably know Instagram, or at least someone very close to you should, which gives you the capability to “hashtag.” For those who don’t know, a hash tag is something used on social medial that is basically a theme on a topic (message, item, common phrase, buzzword, popular saying, car, boat, motorcycle, country, location, brand, person, nickname, issue, matter, question, it can really be anything) written out in one word and begins with a pound sign or #.
This can literally be anything. For instance, my boat is named “JJ’s Toy” so when people come on it and take pictures they use a hashtag when posting. Example: the hashtag for JJ’s Toy would look like this, #jjstoy (no spaces and no punctuation, just words).
The cool thing about this is anyone can do it. If you have someone out on your boat and they are going to post a picture, you can tell them to write in a hashtag to their post. So even if you don’t use these mobile applications you can still have someone post something for you. The other cool thing about this is that you can look up hashtags on applications like Instagram & Twitter and they will have every single post that contains that specific hashtag in one place for your viewing. You can look me up under #jjstoy and #yoloii, my two boat names, there is also one for Sea Pro under #seapro and #seaproboats. And even further, if you or a friend forgets to hashtag then you can simply comment on the picture or post, write in the hashtag, and it will show up under the hashtag when you search it. I’ve used #seapro many times on Instagram but people use #seapro for other things outside boating.
My thought is, and to connect all of us a bit more, come up with a more specific version of #seapro, like #seaproteam or #seaproowners or #seaproclub or #seaprofamily or #seaprofam or #seaprofanatic ect, that we can use to post and keep up with each others activities, projects and everything else; like a picture of our boat or fish we’ve caught or a simple picture of a fun day on the water or creative ideas we’ve come up with that we would like to share.
Please share thoughts on this idea!
For those who have Instagram I have tried this with #seaproteam on one of my pictures. You can look it up.

Yolo, your gonna have to re post that in English please! Seriously, I think your on to a great idea but this part of the audience is too technically challenged to get it. Facebook and this forum is about as social media savvy as I can get. If I ever Instagram though, I will pound sign sea pro team!

do you have a son? daughter? friend with an iPhone? If so. Have them take a picture of your boat and when they do tell them to post on instagram and write "#seaproteam" that Simple no pun intended Thats the beauty of this idea, you dont have to know how to use it because there are so many people who do All you have to know how to do is have them post the picture and say (literally read this to them) "post it on instagram and write hashtag seaproteam" anyone who has it will know what to do and then can show you.

But still, i urge you to try it....next tome someone takes a picture on the boat say "post it on instagram and write hashtag seaproteam as the caption"
Were always talking about posting pics, by telling someone that one little sentence we will have all pics in one place.

Looks like someone already has there is a page and a tag. Some neat stuff on there. ^That's the Instagram account of The Next Wave. Search for #seapro and #seaproboats on Instagram to see posts by other Sea Pro owners.
