Well the day is fast approaching when it is time for me to go back to work! I have enjoyed the last 5 months of vacation. But all good things must come to an end unfortunately!!! See you on the high seas!!!! The good thing is i accomplished what i wanted to do on the Sea Pro over the winter. Just waiting on the swim platform to arrive before i pull it out of the garage!!! Times to go and catch some scallops and feed all the scallop lovers out there!!!! Capt Duck

You call that "work"? If I had to go back to work, I'd want your job!! Be careful out there.

That's some fine eating right there. You definitely got alot done on the sea pro over the winter. Lots of good information shared. How do you "catch" scallops?

Thanks Greenheadrocker! I tried to post as much as I could of all the stuff I did. Always good to share as much info as possible. So the next person can have some insight into what is involved. And also so I can go back and look at what I did if I need to. How do I catch scallops? ? I could tell you, but then I would have to kill you!!!! Lol actually we use 2 14’ steel dredges that weight about 2 tons each. We drag them on the ocean floor at about 5 knots and then pick them up and dump them out and do it all over again. Pretty dangerous when it is blowing 35+ knot winds and you have 10+ foot seas and they are hanging about 25-30 in the air!!! I will see if I can post some video for you.

Capt, you're an inspiration for us all. You got more done on your boat in a couple weeks than I ever get done in a couple years! Thanks for all the pics and info and be safe out there. I'll make a toast to you next time I have scallops wrapped in bacon.

Thanks freezer filler!!!
Thanks ahhhspray!!! Eat all them scallops up. Me personally I don’t eat them much. But my kids and wife on the other hand eat them up!!! Yeah helps that I have winters off to do things that I won’t normally get to do during the warmer months. Sometimes its good and sometimes bad. Would love to be able to work on my sea pro when it is warm. Rather than being in a garage and freezing my tail off! Might have to see about get my garage insulated better and a permanent heater installed. But I do have some heat in there but need more. I had a game plan to get all this done earlier in the fall before cold weather really kicked in. But between our old st daughters wedding and other things in life getting in the way. The sea pro project kept getting push d backs but thankfully I got it done! Once I pull it out of garage I will install windshield and grab rail around console. It won’t fit in my garage with them on. Thinking I might leave it in garage till I get back on land. So it will stay in the awesome condition it is in!!! Calling for more snow this week.

Greenheadrocker... this is a scallop turtle deflector dredge. We have 2 of these. 1 on each side. 14 feet wide and about 15 feet long. Pulled by a 1” stainless steel cable. Usually have about 600 feet of cable out when I am towing these dredges. So when it comes up out of the water it is usually about 1/2 to 3-4 full. Full of what? You never know!!! But this gives you an idea of what a dredge looks like and how we catch them.

That's cool. Looks like the rocks give yall a fit sometimes. What's with the lights flashing the whole time?

Thats just from the camera. I don't know why the GoPro makes the lights do that. It is weird!!!

Oh yeah those Rocks...( i have picked up bigger) can be a pain in the rear to get back overboard sometimes. I have had some where i had to cut the whole bottom of the bag just to get rid of it. And when that happens it is not good. For one i lose everything that i just drug an hour for to catch. But then i have to spend about another hour re-linking the whole metal bag back together again!!!!

That's intense. Looks like the deck is slippery as snot too. You ever think about rigging up a rock grapple with a release mechanism to jettison those things?
