Thanks freezer. I'd go with the laptop too (especially since I have an extra one he could have) but that's not what he wants. He insists he wants a desk top. We're first going to Best Buy as soon as my knee lets me walk around the store. I like the convenience of a brick and mortar store in case something goes wrong but if we can't find what he wants there at a decent price, we'll probably order the one I posted above, I even found the same computer cheaper online at WalMart. I think I've looked at everything Amazon has to offer and a lot of those don't have the best customer reviews.

The computer you are looking at does not have wifi, that means you need an Ethernet cable plugged directly into your router to connect to the internet. if this this is not practical for you, then maybe look at this one, with a good built in wifi adapter for less money. This one has a 1 tb hard drive that is mechanical and slow compared to an ssd. The one you are looking at has a 250 gb ssd but if you want to use this computer for more than games, then add a 500 gb ssd for $69, they were $57 2 weeks ago www.amazon.com/Crucial-MX500-500GB-NAND-Internal/dp/B0784SLQM6 and use the 1 tb drive as a backup and recovery drive. For $9 www.amazon.com/Sabrent-Tool-free-Enclosure-Optimized-EC-UASP/dp/B00OJ3UJ2S you can put that 1 tb drive in a portable usb case and use it as a backup and restore drive. Use just need to clone the 1 tb hard drive before using it as a backup portable usb drive. The cloning software is free and comes with the ssd drive. Once you buy a desktop with a case like this, it is very easy to upgrade the components, add devices, replace failed hardware, change motherboards and graphic cards..... Good Luck with this, back in the day when we had to build our own desktops so we could dial into to work using a modem, I was an expert LOL, now I'm just a retired software guy that has to relearn all this stuff when I need a new laptop or desktop.
