So I have a 2016 228 bay and have an issue with when I run my live wells when I’m sitting still water backs up into my battery box. So I called sea pro and it took me a while but they sent me a retro drain kit. But does not have any instructions on what to do and now I can’t get ahold of anyone to find out. The kit has two additional scuppers (because my boat only came with the one scupper drain) a 12 ft 1 1/2 drain tubing and a 2 inch plug ( I’m guessing is for the rear of the manifold.) I have looked up many pictures of newer sea pros that do have the three scupper drain the one I have and two above it. I can’t find any other info about it online. So I’m wondering if someone with a newer model can give me the measurements of where the two upper scuppers go on my hull ? Any pictures would be nice and also if I’m right about the plug and the hoses that go from the deck drain to the new scupper drains

I love to help folks, but when it's under warranty I say take her to the man and let him fix her. Post pics of your boat when you get a chance!

So yes that’s exactly what I thought and tried, but sea pros 10 year warranty is only good for the original purchaser and I am the second owner so it’s not covered under warranty. I will upload pictures as soon as I can

It runs from the drain hole to a through hull on the 2100s. Sorry, but din't know how the 2017s are plumbed.

Thanks Just received a reply from admin@seapromfg.com. and I quote: “The overflow on both live wells drain into the single port manifold drainage system located in the back of the boat”.
Mystery solved?

I'd guess the retro drain kit they sent you is the answer. There are others here that have had issues with the manifold drain system on the next wave boats. Hopefully they will chime in.

There is a retro fit system that needs to be installed..... on the single port manifold drainage system. Has anyone had this done? Thanks

I have a 208 bay 2019 Seapro. I am always standing in water myself. It seems to come from the silver drain at the rear of the boat. Was you able to get your issue solved? sounds similar to mine.

I am having the same issue with my 2017 239. Previous owner never used the livewell so probably didn't notice but when I'm running the livewell it backs up out through the lip drain of the battery box deck hatch and since that hatch is not well sealed it just pours into the bilge. Tried blowing out all the drains but it doesn't help. Pretty disappointing that i can't safely run the livewell out there

I have a 2017 and have the kit from Sea Pro but I have more questions than parts and no instructions. Like you I assume the new scuppers and hoses are for the deck drains and the plug is for the manifold. Did you 4200 or 5200 your scuppers? I don't trust the rubber gasket that came with the scuppers. Mine has some type of fitting in the original deck drains about 1/2 way don't the hose. Did yours have these?

It’s a bad design, all drains should not go to one place. If the boat is sitting still and the back drain in one foot in the water putting pressure on the drain flap and the live well overflow will take the path of less resistance meaning it can back flow through the boat scuppers or somewhere else.

I talked to the engineer at sea pro because when they sent me the kit I did not trust it either, he gave me exact measurements to the T and I installed the new scuppers myself and yes I used 5200 because the gaskets kept squeezing out. I haven’t had a problem since I put it on. My battery box stays dry and I still run both live wells. Apparently it was a recall in the earlier models
