I have a 2003 sv2100 bay boat. It had the cooler flip seat in it. I would like to replace it with a leaning post. I have measured the old flip seat and it’s 33” wide. Was looking for suggestions on leaning post size (width, height, manufacturer, etc.). I would appreciate any feedback from previous experience. Thanks again!

My only advice would be. " DON'T DO IT!". 😉

I have a 2002 sv2100cc with a leaning post that was already installed. I don't mind it too much but it certainly leaves a lot to be desired. A lot of this is going to depend on your height and what is comfortable for you. One issue with mine is I am 6'3" and I am always hunched over to steer the boat because the console is not tall enough for me. If I were going to add or redo my leaning post I would definitely do two things differently: I would want the new style leaning post that has the fold down portion that turns it into a real seat...with a fold out foot rest bar (I believe they call these bolster seats but they are pricey) and I would change the way my rod holders on the back of my seat are. Currently there are 4 rod holders welded to the rear bar of the seat...which is fine but they stick up above the seat about 2-3 inches. This is annoying because when I am trolling or bottom fishing off the back I can't sit sideways or facing the rear on the seat without the rod holders digging into legs/butt.
Lastly the distance between the console and the leaning post is gonna be important if you do not have a tilt helm.
I will try to get pictures next time I get around the boat. I know my leaning post was made by topsntowers. They are long out of business now. Mine is made out of aluminum I believe and is holding up very well. You may be better off getting a local custom shop to build it for you....but honestly I am just guessing on that.
