Repowering '96 180cc - Gas Tank Question

I am repowering my 1996 180CC. I want to replace the fuel pick up hose and the original fuel line. I noticed that the anti -siphon valve does not have any kind of fuel line on it. I don't think it ever has. I have owned the boat since 2001, and it has never been there. So, the fuel line connects to the tank in a location that I cannot easily reach. Will I have to cut the deck under the console to get to the connection? I can grab the fuel line, but can't see where it connects to the tank.  It is on the starboard side; that is as much as I can tell.

Anybody out there ever replaced the fuel lines on th '96 180cc?

that seems strange. It should be at the top center of the tank where the antisiphon valve is. I guess somebody had what they thought was a better idea?
