What do you use to fill in old screw holes? Everything I have use eithers darkens or shrinks eventually. Just looking for something better.

In 2008, I used Marine Tex to repair some dings and fill screw holes that needed to be re-drilled. I haven't had any problems with the ding repairs and the screws are still holding. I recently used a water-weld epoxy stick to fill some old trolling motor mount hole but can't speak to how well it holds up yet. It's an off-white color that doesn't match my gel coat perfectly but it's close enough for me.

I had some un-used trolling motor holes when I upgraded. I filled them with silicone just below the top then leveled them off with some Gel coat I had laying around the shop. A bit noticable due to yellowing of the surrounding boat finish, but not an eye sore at all. Good and hard also.

I use epoxy filled with glass short fibers until it's too thick to drip. If it's in a noticeable area, I'll put a gel coat touch up on it.
