every year weather it needs it or not. i take my boat in and get it serviced. the whole works. most the time i run in fresh water and may only have 30 hrs a year. if even that running time. how often do most of you service your engine ? am i doing over kill ? thanks for any input. ED.

I don't think you can overkill preventative maintenance if your pocket book can afford it! I think alot of the things that they are doing, you could probably be doing yourself every other year and cut your costs in half. Are they changing the water pump impeller out yearly? That you could stretch out to every two-three years. As far as time on the engine, I believe that low hours is harder on a boat than high hours. Seems stuff always quits working on my boat when it sits up for awhile. Scott
