Headed to Stuart Florida area to try some fishing. What can I catch this time of the year down there? Any advice would also be greatly appreciated.

Give me a call, the fishing lately has been really bad. The Seas have not cooperated either. The Dolphin run should be starting. Go out of Stuart and head straight out, start dragging naked and skirted hoos in 100 fr and zig zag to 350 and back. If there is anything there, you will find it. Sailfish start in 70 ft and go out from there, but Bonita are in close as well. That is why I do nit even put lines in until 100 ft. Still get some bonita, but nat as many. You can slow troll for kings insde 70 ft, thsy like rapalas and rebel lures, something that shakes a lot, make sure you put wire on the lures to prevent cutoffs. You can call me at 772-475-4990. I will be in town until Saturday, then I have to go to Tallahassee on Sunday for the week.

gameco34, Your trip shouldn't be a bust. The inshore bite should be good on redfish, flounder, and snook. I wish you the luck of the Irish. Have a good trip and let us know how it goes!!!! ED

Sorry i have been busy and have not thought about it much. The weather was bad and i came back a day early. I caught 2 blues, and my first snook ever. The best part of the whole trip was getting my 7 yr old nephew hooked on fishing. He caught a sheephead that was about 17 inches long(his first fish by the way) and all he talks about now is fishing. His first cast was with a shimano spirex spinning reel and he is very good with it too. The most amazing thing is his patience. I am headed back down on June 12 and look forward to taking him back out on the water and hope to have some more stories for you guys.

That's great! Most of us that are "hooked" on fishing can remember a time in our youth that we had a profound experience that forever left its mark on us. Made us junkies to fishing! Mine involved a cane pole, a shiner and a HUGE farm pond largemouth bass! To be there to provide your nephew that experience as well as witness a fisherman being born. I can't think of a better fishing trip! That being said, I hope y'all get some more rod bending and string stretching in June! Scott

gameco34, Thanks for the post as we were waiting. I know what it is to pull a boat 400/500 miles and not be able to get on the water. I have done it several times. It was not all lost with a kid hooked on the best of all the sports. can even bring something home to eat. Waiting to hear about your next adventure. I hope to post one of these days but yard work has me shut down right now with all the trimming and weeding but will fish one of these days. <`)>(((< ED
