This pic is looking towards the stern from the cockpit into my bilge area. The spotlight is focused on a drain hole that was fiberglassed over at the factory! I had been seeing water coming in from above the bilge bulkhead when the boat rocked and wondered what where it was coming from. I reached back into the bilge access(over where you see the floor drain scuppers go through the hull) and found about 20 gallons of water that had no apparent way to drain. Once I figured out how the other side drained, it was evident that there was supposed to also be a drain hole where I have the spotlight focused. It just took a small drill hole to confirm that water wanted to come out, and a bigger drill hole to let more water out and a 7/8 paddle bit to open it up all the way. It's nice to fix a problem that I did not create for once. Anyway, I hope someone benefits from this. Check to make sure you don't have any plugged drains caused by some sloppy application at the factory. Attachments:

Same thing on my boat, it was the right side. Found where the drain was supposed to be, opened it up and let the water run. The factory loves to glass over the drains.

I have the same problem with my 2003 SV2100 bay boat. I've been wondering if I had room to get my cordless drill in there to do that. I'll have to give that a try. Thanks!

Interesting, I'm headed to Florida next week and I will check my 206 as well. Thanks

I saw water trickling from that same spot, same side on my SS1850 skiff, I was also wondering why it dripped water for a day or two after being out of the water, I bet my damn drain is clogged as yours was, well I will put that on the list of "to do's"
Thanks a million Weaver

now that Weaverama has my brain turning, seemed my boat was leaning towards that side Sat on the water, had no water in bait tank and thought it was strange for it to be leaning that way, probably full of dadgum water

What I can add to this is that the water that was in my boat was not stagnant, it was fresh, freshwater with a small amount of organics, leaves, etc. I can't figure out how it got in there; that "pocket" sits at a higher elevation than the bilge. I assume it came from the recent HEAVY rains we had in the Mid-Atlantic.....oh wait, it just hit me.
Gunwale Rod Holders, that's gotta be how it got in. And some may have gotten in thru the holes in the recessed storage inserts that are in the sidewalls of the cockpit. Maybe it was not 20 gallons but there was at least 10. When the boat sits level in the water my bet is that most of it can drain forward and eventually find its way into the bilge.
When I pulled my boat home before Hurricane Irene, my wife was following me in her car and noted that water was running sporadically out of the drain hole during stops and starts for many miles. Now I know where it was coming from. Well that's one of my life's mysteries solved.

Hey mine too, my right side is waterpump and battery and has a drain hole to the lower level and is always dry the left side where the cables pass over is full of water and never drains even though you can clearly see round drain holes entering the bildge that are on the right and left sides but left side is covered with fiberglass. Just to clarify if I use a long bit and drill from the lower bildge area through the existing hole and punch thru the water will drain and not leak into some other hidden compartment inside that little "stepdown" that seperates the upper and lower bildge area. thanks for any replies

Correct, water should drain into the bilge like a champ.

Sounds like exactly the issue I noticed today on my 2007 SV2400CC Bay, when I looked in the Starboard Rear Compartment with the batteries and the Perko I could see water building. Guess if the weather is decent here in the next few days, I will try and get a drill in from the Bilge side and see if it can be cleared out. My water extremely crappy smelling!

They did get a little "sloppy with the poxy" at the factory. If you haven't already, it would pay to spend a few hours sticking your head everywhere it will fit "hunting boogers". Oh and welcome to the forum blengkeek.

Can you show me a pic of where the hole is supposed to be on your boat? I am thinking that the 2100 should be in the same area, but nothing is even draining slightly on mine, so I have no idea where it should be and I dont want to blindly start drilling holes. Juan, if you could show me a pic on your boat, that would be ideal as well.

So I found the same problem. When I cleared the glass from the end of the drain in the bilge, nothing came out. I can reach over and find lots of water just sitting there. I stuck a fish-tape into the drain and it went maybe 12 inches and stopped. This was on both sides. Did they glass over both ends? Should I get a really long drill bit and just drill it out? I'd hate to come out on the outside!

I would try some compressed air first. I am not going to be the one to recommend shoving a long bit up in there. I do not know what you might run into up in there.

OK... I finally got after this problem yesterday on my SV2100 Bay. The drain holes on mine (from the outside of the stringers to the bilge area) are about 12 inches from the transom toward the bow. they are not up against the transom. At that point, the stringers are about 9-10 inches wide. Drilling from the bilge outward, with a cordless drill and a long bit, I could not attack these holes perfectly perpendicular to the drain holes because the large transom support braces were slightly in my way.
I was able to clear the transom side of the drains easily working from the bilge area.. As it turned out, there is a flexible plastic tube buried in there with a 3/4 inch inside diameter. On the port side (covered by a glassed in storage/ice chest ares) my drill caught this tube due my bad drilling angle and ripped it out. I went ahead and pushed the 14" drill bit through at the bad angle and created a nice new hole.
On the starboard side (the battery compartment) I can reach the bottom of the hull, so I was able to work from each side of the stringer and clear both ends of the drain, leaving the plastic tubing in tact.
So now, both sides drain very well, but I have one side without the tube, just a hole. My only concern is that ripping out that plastic tube may lead to some "stringer foam" water logging in the future.

I drilled out mine('07 206cc) with a long flexible bit used by cable installers. Worked great, drained a lot of water.

I just purchased a 2004 SV2100 and was cleaning it this weekend and now have a problem. I was cleaning the front anchor locker and apparently I've filled the front of my boat with water and I can't get it out. I've tried to get some of the water out with a shop vac and also tried a drill pump, but haven't had much success. I've read thru the threads on clogged drains, but can seem to get any drains to open up. Any advice is welcomed.

I used a pressure washer to blow the drain free, I may eventually cut the floor to accomidate a bigger anchor, thus relieving the little hole in the locker. It just drains to the bilge. make sure you see water coming out the rear drain when cleared;
