I have a SV2100 center console boat. I'll looking to buy a new SUV and want to make sure it can tow the boat. I've looked and searched for the weight of the boat in many locations, but have not found it. Does anyone know the weight of the boat?

According to a brochure I have the weight of a SV2100CC is 1900lbs, I'm guessing thats bare boat weight.
Hope this helps.

I got a '08 SV2100. Got my tow weight figured in between 3000 & 3500 lbs. That's including the boat, motor, trailer, fuel and gear

Hey coach !! I am in the towing, hitch and wiring business. So if you want to run a vehicle by me, I will tell you exactly what it will pull. I too many times hear about a truck dealership salesman telling a customer "Don't worry, this truck will pull any boat or trailer" BS !! Call me toll free 1-888-787-8737 and ask for Gary. I have NO interest in selling you a vehicle, just in making sure you are pulling safely.....
I will want to know engine, 2wd or 4wd and axel ratio. If you don't know the rear end axel ratio and it's a Ford get me the axel code off the drivers door frame.

That's including the boat, motor, trailer, fuel and gear Took my '06 fully loaded to the scale at the local landfill and it was in the 3200# area. That was boat, motor, trailer, full fuel tank and typical gear for 3 people. My '04 Dodge Ram 1500 (w/ Hemi) pulls it easily as does my '03 Trailblazer with the inline 6 (275hp). In fact, putting back in the yard is easier with the Trailblazer.

I pull my 04 2100 with a Hemi Ram...I'm curious....what kind of mileage is your truck getting and do you pull with the "tow option" on or off?

My truck did not come with the tow hitch installed, so I believe I have different gears than the ones that came hitch equipped. I installed it afterwards. I typically will tow with the Tow Option on. When not in tow, I can get up to 21mpg on the HWY if I do a constant 68mph. down to about 13 in the city. When in tow, its dramatically less, but since most of my towing is on city streets, I go down to about 10mph. The one time I did take it on the HWY to the keys, I was averaging around 18mpg, but I never exceed the speed limit when I tow, purely for safety reasons.

Thanks lafromla1, Mine is a 2010 and came with the tow package and you are getting around the same mileage I'm getting without it... I guess the tow package doesn't make much difference. I went from 8 mpg when towing with my 02 Ram (w 5.9L) to 11 mpg with this one with the 390 h.p. Hemi.. It's better so I'm not complaining, but with the gas prices rising like they are, I'd still like to find a few more mpgs when pulling the boat.

Juan, one thing I did was put in a K&N air filter and switched to fully synthetic oil which seems to make the truck run a little smoother and gives it a few more HP without sacrificing MPG's.

2004 capacities: Juan, just noticed the tag says that its rated up to a 200hp motor, but the Baystar(?) teleflex steering that came with mine has a small sticker that says its only rated up to 150hp. Was there a different steering system available to handle a larger hp power unit?
