O.K. I'm tired of "patching up" bad rocker switches, etc on my 2000 - 190 center console. Looking for the four gauge (tach, speedo, fuel and volt) with eight rocker switches panel. It's about 15" at the bottom tapering to approx. 13" at the top and approx. 11 1/2 inches tall.
Does anyone have any experience with Great Lakes Skipper ? I found one on their website for $229 plus shipping. Does this sound like a good deal to you guys. How are they to deal with?
BlueFin; you seem to be the "go to guy" for sea-pro parts so please, please weigh in on this.. Or do you have one of these panels?

That is your only choice and once those are gone there won't be anymore.

I have delt with Great lakes skipper before and they were fine amnd my parts were great. But I have to agree, once gone they are gone. or.....you could take your panel off, have it painted or powdercoated, buy new guages, find new switches that are identical to the ones you have and do the whole thing yourself........... but by the time you are finished you migh have $229 invested........Here is a place I buy some of my parts like you need... www.oempartsllc.com/shipping-policy.aspx

I've dealt with Great Lakes Skipper and they are good.
I also just had my instrument panel (which had paint flaking) redone for $75 from a guy in AL. Great work and great price. If you'd like his info I can post it tonight with before and after pics.

Thanks guys, For now I am saying my problem is in the rocker switches, because all my gauges (tach, speedo, volt, and gas) and things not wired thru the rocker switches such as GPS, Tee-top lights, and VHF radio work fine. Things that work thru the rocker switches are the things giving up the ghost. It started with the horn, then the depth finder (wired thru an accessory rocker switch), now the baitwell and bilge pump are not working and I'm not getting fire to either one of the pumps Going to take the panel out and see if I'm getting fire to the rocker switches and go from there. Hope to do that in the next week. Got to get all this crap straightened out soon -- 'cause the fishing is about to get started......

That sounds like a good plan. Most of those rocker switches get their power from a single "hot" wire (usually red, but not always) that comes from the battery and is then daisy chained from guage to guage. Look at the panel and see if you can find this wire and start checking it at the first switch. It is most likely corroded. Pull the wire off the switch (they are push on connectors) and then put it back on. Check closely for corrosion and clean or replace as necessary. If they are daisy chain linked (as they are on mine) then one bad connection would mean that everything downstream is also bad.

BoutTime.....that's my problem! It must be the wiring at the rocker switches. I hope, as I mentioned in the other thread, that the problem will be solved when I get the wiring replaced! Maybe the $500 is worth it afterall! Thanks for bringing up this topic!

thanks captwoody, I'll start with the "hot wire" you mentioned and go from there. My marine mechanic buddy says the rocker switches will corrode, but most of them can be taken apart, cleaned and re-used. I'm not a very good electrician, but I hate to pay someone to do something I can do. Still may purchase one of those panels from Great Lakes skipper.

Thanks Bluefin, was hoping someone on this website would have one, rather help a fellow sea-pro owner. Oh well guess I'll have to order it from Great Lakes Skipper. Thanks everyone for the info. and assistance, this is what makes this site such a great place.
