guys the last time i had my 90 merc 4 stroke out it sputtered real bad whenever I went to throttle up. I changed the water sep. filter, and cleaned the fuel filter on the back of the motor. My primer bulb is also less than a year old. i pump the bulb until tight and run it, but when i sit for a while after anchoring, and then crank up, it sputters real bad and is low in power, the bulb is loose so i pump it a few times and the motor finally picks up. Any ideas, I was leaning towards bad bulb, but its less than a year old.......any ideas?? runs hard once it gets going, just doesnt like to go after sitting a while

Sounds like a bad bulb, does it feel like it has air in it, or just needs a pump?

dont know if its air in the bulb or not, it just gets real loose, and when i pump the bulb the first few times, it doesnt feel like much fuel passes through the bulb I'm going to try a new bulb, whats the best? While I am at it I might as well change the plugs to, all that abnormal bulb pumping may have fouled the plugs, didnt even cross my mind, too worried about getting back to the trailer! Thanks for the info guys

Also, check your gas. If it has been sitting for a while, there may be some debris in there.
