has any one fit their 18, 19, or 21foot sv bayboat with a water separator filter. looking for ideas ,have one of my own, but always open to input from others. my boat is a 2006 sv1900cc and there is very limited acess to the fuel line close to the fuel tank. by the way, the outboard is a merc 115 4stroke efi also a 2006. thanks

I've heard there is a requirement those be mounted in the open area of the motor well, not out of sight in the bilge. I'm not sure who's rule that is (coast guard?) or if that is even correct but you might want to check first. I had one mounted on a pontoon boat but haven't put one on my SeaPro.

I'll take a picture of mine, but it is located on the side of the splash/motor well where the battery compartment is. If your area is anything like mine though, you wont be able to fit a Racor (unit with the clear bottom to drain the water) as there isn't enough room.

I added a fuel/water serperator to my WA190. I mounted it by where my lines/cables come out through the splashwell/transom and go to my outboard(it's on the deck, not inside bilge/boat hull). It is not the racor type with the glass bowl on the bottm. Wasn't enough room. I just replace or drain the filter periodicly and I am good to go.

hi carl, have any pics of your water separator setup, i'm guessing seapro's splashwell design is similar on different model boats. both yours and mine are 19 footers

i forgot to mention the possibility of re-doing my hole fuel line from tank back to get it in the bilge and mount my separator to the inside of my transom where i can access it. anybody done this? my other toy (ranger bass boat) is done this way. thanks

... mount my separator to the inside of my transom where i can access it. anybody done this? my other toy (ranger bass boat) is done this way. thanks This is the way to do it. Or somewhere else inside the vessel (Stringer, battery compartment, etc). I still say having a filter/water separator in the splashwell is a bad idea and someone is going to have a bad day by doing it that way. The arguement of not having it inside the boat is invalid because you already have huge potential (all the fuel hose, connections, tank, etc.). If I am doing the risk analysis, the safe bet is to keep it inside, protected from damage and the elements. Just my opinion...
