I recently purchased a 220CC on a WESCO dual axle trailer. I just ordered stainless steel bolts and u bolts to replace the rusted galvanized ones on the trailer. Can anyone give me some guidance on the torque specs for 1/2" ss bolts with lock nuts? Thanks very much.

Not sure if this helps but seems like it would be good enough!

75 - 85 ft/lb for 1/2".
I just replaced all of mine this year too. If you are thinking about doing anything other than cutting the old U-bolts with a reciprocating saw or cut-off grinder, you're just going to add a lot of work to the job. Cut them and be done with it.

I'm pretty particular about torque specifications and I torque all of my lugs and anything that needs to be but I really don't think you have to worry about the u-bolts. Crank 'em down and check them after you've pulled the trailer a few times and you'll be fine.

Thanks everyone for all the info - very helpful. I was hoping the old ones would break free, but that sounds like wishful thinking. I'll plan to break out the ginder this weekend.
