Guys I went out on Sunday morning. While driving in the channel to get out to the bay I noticed the engine was just not acting normal sometimes it had a little bit of hesitation. When we got out of the channel and I started cruisin at about 5700 RPM, that's when it began.. The engine started fluctuating about 500 RPMs. It would go from 5700 to 5100-5200RPM and back up. It did this at different RPM band. It did this for the 8 mile ride to the sand bar. Any ideas. I didn't see any codes or alarms on the gauges. well i took it to the mechanic. couldn't figure it out.. today i got it back... ;D ;D ;D the mechanic checked everything with the computer and couldn't find anything wrong. then the mechanic checked the fuel line and the gas tank connection. apparently i had an anti siphoning valve on the tank installed from factory. the mechanic said i didn't need it because i have an outboard and they are usually found on boats with inboard engines. he put a primer bulb on the fuel line and it was hard to get fuel out of it. he then removed the valve and the fuel started to free flow when he pumped the bulb a few times. this was restricting the fuel and causing the RPM's to fluctuate. glad it wasn't the engine. be careful if this happens to you. sea pro might have put this valve on your tank. i have a 2007 238cc with an aluminum tank. the mechanic moved the battery and opened the hatch under that back bench to get to it.

I made the mistake of buying a seasense primer bulb at walmart. The last yamaha I had did the exact same thing. A new bulb solved the problem.
