Just inked deal on 04 2100sv / 140 Johnson 4stroke / ttop etc......comes with nice updated single axle trailer that came with the rig.
Does this rig have to have a tandem?

Doesn't HAVE to have a tandem axle, as long as the correct springs and properly rated tires are used.
Tandem is nice if you ave a flat, and the tires are under less load, so cheaper tires COULD be purchased (not recommended in my opinion).

I'll echo what T-Topless already said.... doesn't HAVE to be a tandem... but that's lot of boat for a single axle trailer and if and WHEN you have a flat or a bearing problem, you'll wish it were a tandem trailer.

I would check that trailer out good. Since you have already ended negotiations I guess the remedy will all be on you but most decent trailers come with 3500 lb. axles which is not enough for that boat (about 4000 lbs fully loaded last time I added one up). If you have 4500 lb axles it's marginally sufficient and like Juan and t-topless said, you will have problems and trailer problems are NO fun...
