Anyone ever do one ? It doesn't look to bad, a few gaskets and diaphragms. Just ordered a kit for under $10. I'm going to give her a go.

thats what i like about this forum, lots of input, experience and encouragement from other members. never done a fuel pump rebuild but if you are mechanically inclined should not be too hard. i see your home as york pa i grew up in lancaster county brownstown to be exact. dont let them rednecks down in alabama or over in south carolina bother you they seem to love their sea pros and seem to be johnny on the spot when it comes to help. i live in tennessee now, for the past 18 years. was born in the south it just took me a while to get back.

I rebuilt one on a 140hp Tohatsu one time. It was a breeze. LOTS easier that a carb rebuild.

Well I just sat down at the work bench to give it a go and realized the kits is minus a few pieces. It is missing 2 small round diaphrams that go on either side of the middle section under the clear discs. Now I have it in pieces waiting on a response from boatpartheadquarters.com Anyone ever use them for anything?

I have rebuilt my fuel pump on my 90 mercury 2 stroke a couple of times and it is very easy. The main thing to remember is that it comes apart like a sandwich. Take the top off, replace the gaskets and parts that go to that and set it down facing up. Next, take the middle out and replace the gaskets and parts to that and then set it on the other piece you just rebuilt and finally do the bottom. Now its all done and ready to go back on. It's about 20 minutes from start to finish and that's with it bolted back on.
