just bought a sv 2300 with a road king trailer, and took the boat to my shop to look at the carbs and the mechanic told me my right rear axle is blown Does anyone know if this can be fixed or if it has to be replaced. Not very happy, contacted dealer in charleston and no return call. I live in Augusta, Ga., and was takeing boat home with me from my home in Edisto.
2nd time I took boat out and this time it bogged down so figured either dirt or high speed jet, and was taking home anyway.

Not sure what he meant by "blown" axle.. but if it's leaking grease, the seal can be replaced. If the bearings are bad, they too can be replaced but if the bearings are so bad that it damaged the spindle on the axle, a new seal and bearings won't last long. If that's the problem and it's not too bad, you can take the axle to a machine shop and have it turned to remove the damage and then put in a larger seal and wheel bearings.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Juan is right, the only thing I'd say differently, is that spindle and axle prices seem to have gotten lower these days, I'd be shocked if a machine shop could compete grinding, pressing and welding in a new spindle, or even cutting one down and buying oversized bearings would be close, and then you would have different sized bearings that you would have to keep up with. I got a complete axle from Wesco for my trailer for $180 assembled with spindles, pre loaded and greased bearings, even came with new lug nuts. I don't think you can beat that anywhere. I just found road kings site, looks like about $230 for one of their axles.... roadkingtrailers.com/parts.htm but hopefully it's just a blown seal and is a $2 fix.

... 2nd time I took boat out and this time it bogged down so figured either dirt or high speed jet, and was taking home anyway. Might just be water in the Fuel-water separator ... drain it and fill with E-Free gas. Very common problem - happens when running ...
