I just bought a 1996 180cc and on the first outing it would lean to the left under full power. Does the torque tab make a difference because it was set to the zero position of five. Also gotta center up the foot that is a little bit right of center. I will probably find out next time I take her out but am just putting this out there to see if anyone has I countered this problem? Any input is welcome. Thanks,

So, is it leaning right (your Subject) or left (your text)?
Left is torque, right is something else.

Sorry, leaning to port on plane. Will the torque tab adjustment fix that? It was set to zero before I moved it to five.

Good lord man! You are the one to ask about torque. 200 horse on a 180cc?! Yeah it was leaning to the left on plane. I found the torque tab set to zero. I adjusted it to four but haven't takin her back out yet.

Torque tab? Do you mean the zinc trim tab behind the prop?
Don't have one on mine ... I did change the bait well to the stbd side side though. Couldn't run at speed with water in it on the port side. The Smart Tabs did the trick - 67mph and flat.

SUPER common on alot of boats. 2 things. 1. adjust the torque ta so the TRAILING edge points the boats STARBOARDside. 2. you MIGHT need tabs. I also have smart tabs, and while not ideal in every situation, I am very pleased with them for short money.

I adjusted trim tab on motor and she ran better or should I say more level when trimmed up to a certain height. I'm not opposed it trim tabs but will they fit on boat under swim ladder?

Ross, I have read all the reviews on smart tabs. Thinking about getting some. Do you have a swim platform on your boat? Not sure how much I would have to notch platform to fit them. After I adjusted the trim tab behind prop the boat would ride level but only at a certain level of motor trim. She still wanted to lean to port at most other trim levels. It's not to bad but I am anal about everything being just SO. How strongly do u recommend them?
