My sv1900cc has a 2000 Yamaha 115 2-stroke. It turns about 5800 rpms with its 19-pitch Stiletto SS prop. Great performance! I can't imagine this boat with a 150. Comments from our local Yamaha service dealer are that the 115 can spin up to 6k with no problem. It's maybe the best mid-size motor Yamaha has ever made - powerful, flexible and economical. The weakness is its propensity to have carb / fuel pump issues with long-term use of oxygenated fuel. The tiny passages inside the carbs are very sensitive to any debris that may be created by the solvent action of ethanol. Good fuel filters are a must. However, a reasonably-competent DIYer can disassemble and clean the carbs with no problem. The fuel pump diaphragms are also attacked by the ethanol / MTBE and periodically will fail. Fortunately, the problem is easy to diagnose and the pump is inexpensive and easy to replace.
