Well after having problems with water in the fuel for the past few years when the boat has set up for a while I could not figure where it was coming form. I keep the tank topped off.
About 3 years ago I knocked off the white plastic cover that sits onto of the fuel vent. The last time I ran the boat we ran to an offshore reef about 30 miles from the dock. The boat ran great on the way out. About a mile from the reef it started acting up and the whole way home. I could not get over 3800 rpms. I took the boat to the shop a couple weeks back to have the vent replaced and my auto budge pump would not turn off. They do not make that model pump so I had to replace it with a Rule pump and float which is OK with me.
I have always hate those plastic vents. I had the same problem with my Sea Boss and water. They put one of those flush mount vents in and I have always like the way they look. Next weekend I am hoping to take the boat to the Beaufort Water Festival on Saturday. Hope everything is GOOD. It is about 42 miles each way.
It is not going to happen but if I was to buy a new boat, before it is paid for it would have a flush mount vent on it.
Anybody heading to the water festival?

I seem to have lost my post? I didn't know about the festival but am gonna check it out. If you can you gotta go to Blackstone's restaurant in downtown Beaufort at waterside. They have an amazing corned beef hash breakfast ! It hash and grits with a fried egg layed over hash and hash browns! Yuummmmiiiieee!, May have to go just to get that! They make their own corned beef. To die for.!

acdaddy0, it is impossible to get to the deck/downtown from the boat. We end up staying on the boat or sandbar all day.

Wasn't sure if you were staying somewhere. I checked out the festival , looks fun but I tend to stay away from soo many people on the water! All the dummies that don't know the rules of the water make me itch! Be careful but have fun. All the drunks will be outthere! Post some Picts.

acdaddyO, there is so many LEOs from the state, DNR. CG and locals it would crazy to do anything that would draw attention to you.
I got pulled last year for a wake in the intercoastal when i passed a dock on the other side of the river (maybe 200 yards away) by SC DNR. I asked where is the "NO WAKE" sign and he said that there was not one. I said that I was on plane on the other side of the river and he said OK but you can not be above idle speed. Then I realized that it was the GA registration on the boat and the flags that were in the t-top (frosty beer and a martini) was the reason for the stop. I figured that I would fight this in court but he ended up giving me a warning. It helped when he saw that I just had the boat inspected by the CG Reserve the week before.
There was no sign of any adult cocktails in open view. Everything was stored away.
Over all a great time.

Ha! Yeah , In my opinion, state authorities target out of state vehicles for tickets due to the fact that they will most likely not show up for court, easy money! Also they seem to be overwhelmed at big events with that much traffic . They are looking for a reason to ticket. Maybe stow the beverage flags! I'm heading to santee lakes this weekend where it's quiet! I'd like to meet y'all on the water but in less traffic .

By the way! , does it piss anyone else off to see no wake zones on an inter coastal waterway!? Isn't that the reason they were created , to be an interstate for boats! Screw your dock!

You are correct! But not just state authorities. Years ago was riding the motorcycle to the mountains still in GA and was behind a pickup truck driving maybe 15 MPH in a 55 zone and it was loaded with trash. We were caught from maybe 4 or 5 miles before we could pass safely. Get to a straight away going downhill. Looked to the left and see a local LEO coming out of the side street and I wave to him. Then pass the truck. At the bottom of the hill we get pulled. The first thing the LEO asked are we from around here. Without thinking I say NO. Here comes the ticket for passing on a yellow line. The were black topping the road and maybe 20% of the road was stripped. He knew we would not come back for the court date. LESSON LEARNED: yes officer, I am here a couple times a month for business.
