Busted my fuel vent off yesterday at the dock while getting ready to head out, I ordered a new one that should be here by Wednesday. This vent sits on the side of the hull just below the rub rail, and sticks out about an inch or so , it is a P-vent that will not let water into the tank. The design and location of this was really not thought through very well. I know I should have put the bumpers out and this could have been prevented, but hey, hindsight is always 20/20. I am thinking of how to make some type of guard or something to protect the vent stem, and to keep this from happening again, this is the second time it has happened in many years of owning my Sea-Pro, and honestly this has been the only issue I have had with this boat....knock on wood...I would hate to have this happen and not notice it and end up with a tank full of salt water. Any suggestions besides putting the bumpers out when at the dock, hahaha. This is a pain having to replace this......Thanks fellow Sea-Pro owners.

I heard of using a clamshell to stop water getting in the vent, This might also work as a gaurd to stop you breaking it off

After busting mine off, I went with a flush mount vent
