I bought mine off Ebay for 18.00 including shipping.
Mark Thanks, I just ordered a can.. The best price I could find on eBay was $18.95 with some selling for more than $30 bucks... it has to be good wax at that price.

Collinite is too close to Collon-nite and I don't think they use any wax for a colonoscopy !

Got my first can of Collinite in the mail yesterday... First impression: I'm impressed. It goes on a lot easier than I had expected, wipes off as easy as any wax I've used and leaves a great shine... I'll make the final judgement when I finish waxing both boats and my truck and then see how long it lasts but if it lasts as long as a lot of the reviews say it will...it's the best invention since toilet paper.

I waxed mine with it the other day. Then went for a stroll on the river. Still left a nice dirty water mark that wouldn't spray off. However I just wiped it quickly with a towel and it came right off.

At this point, I'd do commercials for Meguiars #67 "One Step Compound" and their Flagship Premium Wax. I can't speak for exactly how long this stuff will last, because I just applied it ~1 month ago and have only dropped the boat in the water once since, but I'm a huge fan of Meguiars products from my experience with their auto waxes. I wanted to shine up my old boat before putting it on the market to sell, then knew I'd probably want to do the same process on my "new to me" boat, so I picked up a Harbor Freight "standard rotating" buffer, as well as a dual-action buffer. This was my first time compounding or waxing a boat, so it was a pretty brutal learning curve. I finally fell in my groove with the 7.5" wool buffing pad you'll see below to apply the compound, rubbed off with a microfiber towel and lots of elbow grease.. Then I switched to the dual action buffer with a foam pad to apply the wax, which came off very easily with a microfiber towel. Hopefully now I can maintain the wax job 2x a year with the dual action buffer.. It only took ~1 hour to go around each boat, once I knew what I was doing..

It was way too much work.. The blue paint on mine was pretty badly oxidized, scuffed and stained from years of neglect. I peeled the old SC registration numbers off and saw how nice the rest of the paint COULD be... My intention was just to buff the section around the registration numbers, but I saw how good it looked and kept going. There's still a bit of contrast from where the old registration numbers were, but I think wet-sanding would be the only way to fix that..

LOL , SC I did the same thing. I used turtle wax which has a green colour to it, when I was done it looked like it had a green haze to it . Then I realisd it was the grass next to the boat rofl

Ok I'm new to this forum but not to waxing & must have tested 20-30 over the years. By far the best i have found is Collonite. I use their fleetwax marine and areonautical formula #885. Tough to find in retailers but i get mine direct at www.collonite.com pretty decent folks & will talk with you on specifics if you call them. As said I use the fleetwax formula #885 & I use it on my vehicles as well. It is not a cleaner wax but wax only. This stuff holds up longer and continues to bead water longer than anything I have tried in the past 30 yrs. Had to post a follow up on this stuff!! It's been a couple of months since ordering the Collonite and waxing my boats...I've used both boats several times since I waxed them... This Collonite is just as Pat said.. THANKS Pat... good stuff!! This is the ONLY wax I've ever used that has held up for any length of time.. It's still beading up today like it did the day I waxed them. I don't normally like to endorse stuff, but I will this wax. If you haven't tried it, you owe it to yourself to give it a shot.

I revived this old thread because I've just discovered a wax that's even better IMHO than the Collinite (and I like the Collinite) I've been reading some threads on some bass boat forums about wax and found a lot of people were suggesting a sealant/polish called Pro-Tec so I ordered a bottle and tried it. It is by far the easiest to apply and take off than any other wax I've ever tired and the shine is amazing. I did both boats yesterday and was so impressed I tried it on my truck. It's black and I expected it to streak like every other wax I've used but it didn't. I let the wax dry a lot longer than the directions said (10 to 20 minutes) and it still wiped right off. Time will tell how ling it stays on but they claim 6 months. I will be using this stuff from now on or at least until something better comes along. Just thought I'd pass this along. My tailgate looks like a mirror:

Mehh, quit spending your hard earned money on foolishness such as soap and polish. Spend it wisely on whisky, women and fishing tackle.
