After 3 days of constant rain...Tornado touched down nearby this morning. Lost power for 3 hours, The yard and pastures look like a bomb went off with large tree limbs and small trees down everywhere.. The boats are under a cover but are still filled with leaves and limbs. It's going to take weeks to clean up this mess... but I just thought I got it bad until I drove though the water into town.. Huge trees and power lines down across several roads, I saw three homes with trees buried in their roofs and probably a dozen 20 or 30 foot pecan trees uprooted. We should make national news again tonight! Living in the south has it's downside but still beats shoveling snow.

Thanks all, yeah, we're fine..was a little spooky there for a while since we had our grandkids here with us when it hit.. I had told them to be ready to jump in the bath tub and cover up when the tornado sirens went off but it didn't come to that. It's a mess here but it was a lot worse in town than it was here at the house .. it made the local news and showed several homes with trees on the roofs, a trailer that had been cut in half by a power pole, and lots of uprooted trees and blocked roads but I haven't heard of any one being hurt. It's been 8 hours now and most of the town still doesn't have power and by the way it looks it might be days before they do. The stores are closed and there's no school tomorrow.

Glad you are OK. We had one just south of me that got a few roofs, but nothing that bad. It is amazing the destruction that can occur from tornadoes.

Glad to here you are safe. Sorry to hear about the mess. No damage at my house, just some quick hellraisers and some heavy rain the last couple days in east Tenn.

Bad deal, but glad you and your people are okay. Watch out for snakes. The serpents get a little weird after weather events and make their presence known a little more frequently than usual.

Ha. Too much damage and they weren't very big. No free pass around here...If it slithers, it's dead.

Close Call #2 today! 2nd tornado in a week, this time it was about 6 miles away but close enough to knock out the power again... 4 hours now and still no power... my laptop batter won't last much longer... I'm tempted to fire up the generator but about the time I go through the trouble of getting it out and hooking it up, the lights would probably come on. 013
