Ordered one of these today, If it works as well as they claim and it extends the life of my trolling motor batteries it's a good invention. I'll post the results when it arrives G-Fore Eliminator

I am missing something, not sure how or why it works like it claims. Cooling ports? Yeah, cooling ports are part of the claim... they say it keeps the trolling motor cooler which in turn extends both the life of the trolling motor and batteries. They also claim the concave design and o-ring eliminate noise and vibration, if it does that alone, I'll like it.

I don't know, it all makes pretty good sense to me. Aluminum will definitely dissipate heat much better than the factory plastic nut. And it will make it more streamlined and therefore more efficient. I think the asking price is pretty steep for what it is and would expect knock offs to appear fairly soon.

I agree, I think I paid too much for it but I got a black one from Amazon for $46. and that's the best price I could find anywhere. I'm a sucker for gadgets and lights. A noisy trolling motor won't attract fish, in fact it will scare them away in shallow water. I wouldn't say either of the trolling motors on the bass boat or on the Sea Pro are noisy or have much vibration but a slightly worn prop can cause a little vibration and this might eliminate all that so I can sneak up on the fish and hit em with a baseball bat. I'm putting this one on the bass boat and if it makes a difference, I'll buy another for the Sea Pro.

Kewl spotlight. I've never figured out how they rate the intensity of those things... is that one is 1,000 lumens, or does it shine 1,000 lumens 750 ft away? and 1,000 lumens doesn't seem very strong since they sell 1.5 million candlepower spot lights at Walmart and 1 candlepower equals 12.57 lumens but it obviously is super strong if it projects 750 ft. Confusing. I've been considering one of those remote controlled spot lights that fits into your bow light socket but I can't justify the cost. I keep an LED diver's spotlight on the boat now just in case I get it wet or drop it overboard.

Update: I finally got a chance to try out the new gadget on the trolling motor today while fishing a bass tournament.... I don't know how it works, but it does work a little. It made the trolling motor quieter. Not much, but some.. I actually can no longer hear it running when it's set on speeds 4 and below. Anything higher than that, I still hear it and I'm not sure it's any quieter than it was before I added the gadget.. I use "rabbit" speed a lot and I really didn't notice much if any change in operation or sound at that setting, and the batteries didn't last any longer than they did before I added the thing. They actually gave out about an hour before the weigh in time. If I had it to do over, I probably wouldn't buy it again.. but it does look good so it wasn't a total waste of money.

I'm glad you posted your honest opinion. Many times people on internet forums will try to sugarcoat stuff to justify their purchases. I prefer to hang out here where the traffic is lighter, but the signs are correct. I'll wait for the less expensive knock off version.

I too was a bit concerned about removing the sacrificial anode and I honestly don't know if this thing provides any protection. It does claim to have an anodized coating but I don't know if that provides the same protection the anode did. I put it on the bass boat's trolling motor that's used strictly in fresh water..Even if it had worked as they claim it does, I don't think I'd remove the anode and put one on the Sea Pro.

Actually, everyone should get one of these...Best invention since toilet paper!!. Since installing this thing, my boat gained 10 mph, the trolling motor is so quiet, I can hear a cricket a mile away, the batteries last a week and charge themselves if they drop below 24 volts, my beer stays cold longer and it attracts fish to the boat. BTW: I've got an ocean waterfront lot in Arizona for sale if anyone is interested.
