Hi Sea Pro family!
I have a 180cc. I need to get a new trailer for it. I found one for sale but the width is 5 feet across.
My boats in shop so I can't measure current trailer. Will this be to narrow for a 180cc?
Thanks!

Your boat has a beam of 7' 5" , I don't know if that'll do it. Doe's that measurement include the wheels ?

Yeah, 5' across at the bunks might work, but not if it includes the wheels. Also pretty important that it is long enough.

I hope it does fit. The guys selling the trailer for a steal! I also thought that with the beam being so wide the 5 ft would be tight.

The trailer measures 21ft in length so it should be long enough.

It's only a steal if it fits. The only thing worse than an old trailer is a new trailer that is too small for the boat. I'd take a trip to the shop and measure your old one. My $0.02

Most impt questions is weight. Whats it rated for. There is a tread on trailer brakes where I explained GVWR very simply.
GVWR is if you put the boat on the trailer on a scale what will it weigh. If your over then the trailer is too small no matter what you think. If its under then GENERALLY fine.
**I say generally just as the disclaimer. I would tell you that barring a specific anomaly with the boat I'm trailer-ing (which sea pros are not outside the norm) or the trailer itself (which all boat trailer brands run on basically the same dimensions unless the trailer is made for a different hull ie flat bottom) then i would tell you i would be comfortable towing your boat with that width so long as weight is good.
Length sounds ok. Especially once you consider the stern may hang off the back a bit based on tongue weight. Your gonna move the winch arm to dial in the tongue weight. And the winch arm angles with the bow so you can maximize length. ie you can have the winch up as far as top of the arm sitting over the receiver (AS LONG AS YOUR GOOD ON WEIGHT and tongue weight and as long as the bow doesn't touch the truck lol. Thats the important one lol.
The width sounds ok too. My uncle had a 238cc same as me. His trailer came with the boat from sea pro at the boat show. The hull would be just equal with the trailer wheel base. Maybe over an inch or two. Remember the beam of the boat is rail to rail at its widest. Rails stick out further from the hull so take that into consideration too. Makes this trailer sound fine.
BUT the only two things that really really matter are weight and where the boat touches the trailer.
**This next point is conceptual. I have a bunk trailer. The bunks are maybe three feet apart; thats what i need to keep my specif boat off the fenders on my specific trailer (which is big for my boat). So theoretically my trailer could be as little as three feet wide discounting wheel wells. I say this is conceptual because stability and height come into play. Which is all calculated on weight.
