I just got my new LED taillights. They come with a new harness and 25' of line. I am having a hard time figuring this out since I am not near my boat, but is 25 feet enough length or do I need more wire?

How long is your trailer?
Or do you know make and capacity?

Sounds to me like you're going to be too close for comfort. If you've got 21 feet of boat and another 3-4 feet of tongue, you won't likely have enough slack by the time you get to the truck to make a right turn. Luckily, wire is readily available and quite inexpensive. I found this 35' harness on etrailer.com for $11.60. I'd get this so you don't have to splice and have a joint in the run.

Venture says their longest single axel is 22ft so your right there. All you have to do is make adapter on vehicle to rear lights. Youll get six inches from the wires on the trailer lights. Loose two or three inches when you splice into the main for the marker lights. So you'll have one maybeeee two feet to get the wire to the plug, after loosing a little of the wire length to trailer lenght ratio when the wire runs along the beams, which is plenty. Use extra wire if you have a light bar in the center, splice in at one of the lights and run the brown to it. All else fails, I keep these in my truck. They make 4 & 5 pin; & many other number of pins. www.amazon.com/Hopkins-48145-Wire-Extension-Length/dp/B0002RNSNM/ref=pd_lpo_vtph_263_tr_t_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=65SPSDBRJERN1Z2N6EWT

I was worried about that. I ended up getting some marine pre-tinned wire to run down the trailer. I will splice but above where the trailer hits the water. I also use waterproof heat shrink splices.
I am trying to think of how to attach the rear and side markers to the trailer. I was considering drilling a hole and then using a thread cutting tool so that I can just screw into the trailer. I want to seal where I drill or put holes so it won't rust. Would cold galvanization work for this?

It is Norse.

If your short pick up a two 50 extension cords and splice them in at the tongue bar. If you are using adhesive lined heat shrinks top them with marine (adhesive lined) shrink tubing. If you can't find squirt some dialectic grease on the crimps as you slide the shrink tubing over and heat. The using dielectric grease was how I was taught to do underwater connections as it will not fail where the adhesive lining may and gets squeezed in every cavity . Never tried the liquid tape but sounds like a option but won't hold the dialectic grease over the crimp. Sometimes in crimping the plastic sleeve gets compromised. Good inexpensive source for tinned duplex is ebay . My last boat was a pathfinder that had sunk. I had to replace all the wiring and got practiced in soldering, crimping etc...

I use stainless steel self tapping screws for anything going into metal.
