Wow Yolo, my winch looks just like you're 'before' pictures. I am impressed. I guess I might have to follow your lead on this one. Thanks for info.
Ha, I almost wrote 'wench' instead of 'winch'. She's probably rusty too.

This is good stuff, I've been using it for years. You can reuse it a number of times, I filter it thru a coffee filter back into the jug. Cheapest place to get it used to be Harbor (Horror) Freight. Don't know if this is still the case as I've not had to buy any in the last few years, still using the same gallon.

I was using a shop rag but took a while. If you have a pep boys near you go online and buy it to the store they give you a discount I got a gallon for 13.99.

She's probably rusty too. Lolol I won't tell her. I should have mentioned that the only reason I took it apart was because I only bought one gallon and couldnt submerge the whole thing. I should have just went back to the store and got another gallon. My winch is pretty big but depending on what size you have you might be able to get the whole thing in one gal or just get two Gallons and put the whole thing In asse,bled it will do the same job and your life will save two hours lol

I just replaced my old rusty safety chain with a new galvanized one. Now my winch looks rusty... I'll put it on my off season work list!
