My outboard mech. (authorized yamaha) recomended west marine's tc-w3 two stroke oil when he replaced my powerhead and I replaced and moved the remote oil tank to my c/c . Starting fresh and I did't want to pay the big $$$ for yamalube. West Marine has them on 5 day sale for 50% off and on Thanksgiving if ordered through web site an additional 15% off.(pick up at store) Killer deal , know I am buying a 6 month supply. Seams they do the half price on the oil twice a year.

That does look like a good deal, I wonder how that oil compares to Pennzoil.

That does look like a good deal, I wonder how that oil compares to Pennzoil. I'm no authority on oils and it seems everyone has their "favorite" brand that they think performs better than any other brand. I bet of we took a poll we'd find every brand of marine oil being used by someone.. I did some serious research on conventional oils about a year ago. I checked every comparison study I could find at the time.. Some of them compared the characteristics of most of the popular brands. I found that some brands rated higher than Pennzoil in some categories but Pennzoil rated highest in the majority of both conventional and synthetic comparisons. Those studies convinced me that the overall best oil was the Pennzoil brand. I use it in everything I own. That being said, the oil used and recommended by the dealer for my new Suzuki is Yamalube so I bought a case for my first oil change then West Marine recently had a sale on Pennzoil Premium 4 stroke oil (selling it for more than half off).. I bought all they had in stock. (11 quarts) only to find out that Pennzoil has discontinued making their marine 4 stoke oils so I may have to use the Yamalube after all since I can't get any more 4 stoke Marine Pennzoil and I want to use the same brand oil at each oil change.

That's interesting on two count's, 1. A Suzuki dealer recommending Yamalube 2. Recently two major auto part stores had great deals on Pennzoil XLF two stroke oil (which I use) and they now no longer stock it. Had me thinking they were about to discontinue it. I don't know about Yamalube four stroke oil but the Yamalube two stroke oil is the worst crap ever for carbon build but, hence the "recommendation" to use Yamaha ring free with. I saw an oil analysis on two stroke oils which proved that, can't find it now but it was on the internet so must be true.

15% off code doesn't on the oil today. Still half off though.
