How does the Seadek hold up to tuna blood?.. Does the sealing edges keep water and gunk out from underneath it???

I've never fished on it, but it should. When they lay it down the cover the deck with glue.

They make a brand that's cheaper than sea dek and supposed to be just as good. My neighbor has it in his boat. I'll ask him the name if anyone is interested.

I just ordered the template kit to start making templates. Its really not that expensive they charge you buy the sheet.so the estimate to do floor, top of bait wells, either side of motor and a couple other small pieces $500-600. I can go cheaper with the thin stuff. this is for the 2 color thicker stuff. Just gonna take some time to trace out all the non skid pieces on the boat.

I have put Blacktip in my last 3 boats. Several colors to choose from. 4 sheets did my SV1900. It comes with the peel and stick adhesive. You just have to cut the pieces yourself.

bbbb, please post pics showing the whole boat with the Blacktip installed. I found the Blacktip on Amazon, but a few reviews say it doesn't last and turns into black dust. Have you experienced this on any of your boats?

Have you experienced this on any of your boats? If you store your boat in direct sunlight it may turn brittle after a couple years. I keep my boat under a shelter. I had one boat with it for 7 years and it was fine.

That’s really cool. I’m going to put that in my boat to keep my dog from sliding all over the place and my fishing buddy (total spastic) from falling.

I use to use Hydroturf. Its inexpensive if you want to put it down with contact cement. What a mess that can be and takes twice as long to put down waiting for the glue to dry. . Its about $100 a sheet with the adhesive backing.
My last order was placed on a Tuesday at 10am and was at my house the next day at 3pm. Thats some fast shipping for being "free".
Last year Blacktip was $61 shipped on Amazon, but they've bumped the price to $71 now. My sv1900 took 4 sheets. Might have been able to get by with 3 if I would have done more splicing.

Ranger bass boat I did with Blacktip An Airboat I did with Hydroturf. This particular camo pattern had to be ordered through Gator Trax boats. $100 a sheet. I did this boat using stuff from Academy. In the workout section. Diamond plate design. Not nearly as tough as the other stuff, but it was only $30 a sheet and it was a boat I was flipping. Wouldbe a good choice for a cheap jon or gheenoe.

bbbb, does it do well with a pressure washer? I usually use an electric 1700 psi pressure washer at times to wash the boat. I don't mean holding the nozzle right at the material, but general washing.
BTW, cool projects you have done.

I wash mine down with a pressure washer almost every trip. Hold it 8-10" away and you'll be just fine.
I did a boat in gray one time and for the most part could always get it clean. But after 5 years of duck, deer and fish blood it did show some stains that I could not get out. Thats why I switched to these camo patterns.

Simple man - Could that cheaper brand have been Aquamarinedeck? I am glad I stumbled across this thread. No matter the care and maintenance I apply to my gelcoat floors I always end up scubbing the hell out of the interior of my boat by hand with a hull cleaner because of the fact that everything that touches it stains. I would happily spend even 1000$ for a product that reduced the hour or more I spend scrubbing the hell out of my decks after EVERY outing.
Really interested to hear any more input anyone has on this without hijacking the thread. And in about two months Ill post pics for you Mike because Im putting either grey seadek or aquamarinedek in my 2100cc as soon as I can decide between them.

I can't remember. He bought it in Mobile somewhere. I'll ask him and let you know.
Stuff is named Hydro-Turf. He bought it on eBay.
