Took outdrive and lower unit off, AGAIN !! , checked impeller, keyway, gaskets, shaft, everything is still perfectly put together. Put the merc/quicksilver muffs on, made sure they were making a good seel, put water on, started her up, still no water, I opened blue tabs on bottom of manifold and water came out at a good pressure, tightened them back up and water started coming out as it should!! Everything works great now !!! Thanks to everyone for all your help !!! I have a mercruiser top mount binnacle question if you guys could help me out again ?

That's what the forum is for. I'm not much help with merc's but sometimes it's the same issue across brands.

Great !! Installed new mercruiser top mount binnacle shifter and cables last season, goes into fwd & rev no problem nice and smooth !! But is real hard to move giving it more throttle, on the muffs it's fine in the ocean is when it is hard to move to give it more throttle ?

I adjusted the friction screw all different ways, still the same !! There are no tight turns or circles in the cable. It's only stiff when in gear in the water, giving it throttle in neutral is smooth on the water and on the muffs.

Have you tried it with the engine not running? Can you disconnect the throttle cable at the engine? That should tell you if it's binding in the cable or in the linkage.

Yes, took cable off engine side and still does it, I've re routed the cable countless times, triple checked my installation inside the control box. It only is stiff when in the water. Thanks for helping and getting back to me fast!!

Thanks for helping and getting back to me fast!! When you say it only does it when in the water it makes me think that's probably because you can't (or shouldn't) push the throttle in gear and forward faster than an idle when it's out of the water. I'm guessing but it sounds like the cable to me.

Only giving a little throttle in gear on muffs to feel if it is stiff as in the ocean. The cables are the new style gen 2 cables. I'm gonna try to change the throttle cable .could you tell me how to add pictures? Thanks again !!

There are a couple of ways to post pictures... The easiest is: after clicking the "REPLY" button, you'll see an "Add image to post" box in the upper left..click that box then choose the image you want to post.
2nd way is to click the "Insert image" box in the menu bar then insert the URL from an image saving site where you've saved the picture.. ie" Shutterfly, Photobucket, etc.
