My son should earn his eagle scout rank in about 6 months. His uncle is building him a 12' boat as a gift for his achievement. I'm looking for a sweet deal on a 9.9-15 hp outboard that is cheap and reliable. I'm guessing 15" shaft. Would prefer 4 stroke, but cheap and reliable trumps all.

Not mine: (in Tally) 15 hp 4-stroke ,20 inch shaft, electric start, with 4.5 hours of use, 1.5 years of warranty remaining. Excellent condition. Asking $2250.00. 850-868-1127
Not mine again: older johnson 9.9 that has been completely gone over by sheilds (have all receipts) runs great-starts usually 2nd or 3rd pull need to sell -have 3 motors and only 2 boats. wacissagreens@gmail.com

He says he still has it...Still have it-in the process of repainting the hood and replacing the decals.
Here's a 25 with a 15" shaft: Nissan 25hp, 2-stroke, 15" shaft, runs great, just serviced. Comes with a 6 gallon tank and hose. Very good condition. Asking$1900.00. you can text me for pictures. Thank you, 850-868-1127 Harold

Not what you're looking for but here's a good deal on a 4 stroke 5 h.p. merc.
2008 Mercury 5 hp 4 stroke outboard.
Just serviced with oil change, new spark plug and carb rebuild.
Runs great.
$700.

Ran the 1972 Evinrude fastwin in the cube cooler. It's tough for a kid to start, but it purrs like a kitten once it does start. He's started the boat build as of the 4th. If I can get the pics downsized, I'll start a thread on it. It's going to be a pretty cool boat!
