With the temperature hitting 92 degrees and all the rain we've had, I didn't expect to catch anything but catfish but I went fishing any way. The water was still the color of strong coffee due to the rain and I didn't see another boat boat all day. Started off slow but ended the day at 2 p.m. with 67 trout, 2 red fish and and I lost count at the croakers and ladyfish. One of the red fish was under slot and the other was a little over slot, The exciting part was that I had caught a yearling trout and was planing him across the top of the water back to the boat when the red fish jumped out of the water and hit the trout like it was a top water lure. Luckily the hook came out of the trout and stuck the red fish First time I've ever caught a red fish on a trout. All were released (after pictures) unharmed.

How'd that little trout make out? Where are the pictures? The little trout was gone when the red was netted so I guess he's either okay or is in the red's belly. My fishing buddy took the pictures with my phone. He's only got one eye and with the sun glaring on the screen, he couldn't see what he was doing so they didn't turn out too well and they're still in my phone. I'll transfer the better ones later.

Only two pictures are clear enough to post. and he completely missed me in one of them. rofl

Very pretty. The fish, not you. It's hard to improve on perfection.

I caught a white trout one time that tried to eat the first white trout I caught half it's size. It wasn't even on the hook, it was stuck on the smaller trout that was on the hook. We loaded up the cooler that day.

I’ve heard that the best bait for white trout is a cubed white trout. Little cannibals.

I’ve heard that the best bait for white trout is a cubed white trout. Little cannibals. That is true. Once I get in them, the smaller ones get cut into strips for bait.
