Just got her home from having a new 150 Pro XS installed. I will post numbers on this thread once I get the break in done. At this point, Florence is in the way. I want to take a moment to talk about HM Boats in Norfolk VA. These guys are repower specialists. First of all, no one on the east coast could touch their pricing. Secondly, they still have access to 2 stroke Mercury Outboards, in stock, no waiting. The owner, William, was great to work with. We had arranged for me to come and sea trial and pick her up on Friday. There was a small issue with the new motor (fuel pump), and, we ended up staying over night and bringing her home yesterday. William paid for our hotel. The service manager and head mechanic, Robert, was also top notch. My shifter and cables were original to the boat. I decided that if I was going to take the leap to a new motor, I wanted nice, new, smooth, shifting and controls. Robert said that if we were going to pull in new cables it made good sense to take a few more steps. New wiring harness, new rigging tube and flange, and bulkhead fitting with short steering hoses. He quoted all the parts and labor and I agreed. I am very glad he made the recommendation and that I agreed. The quality of work is top notch. The poor quality of the original wiring on Sea Pro's has been well documented here. Robert fixed all of that!

That looks sharp! and that's probably the quickest repower I've ever seen.. they must have gotten right on it. Go ahead and take her out for a sea trial... There's probably some 10 or 12 footers still out there you can jump.

William has motors at Mercury set aside with his name on them. He needs 3 days to get the motor in his hands and if all goes well, can repower in one day depending on ancillary work. These are all "Last Generation" motors. They are 2018 manufacture, just not the newest generation that they just released. He would have to quote you lead time on those. I looked into the new motors and he was quicker than anyone around me, but, as I learned thru this process, we have no real marinas around here. Just boat dealerships. There is a difference. William is a pro at working with boats like ours.
